NORWOOD PARK FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT

The Norwood Park Fire Department resides at 7447 W. Lawrence, Harwood Heights, 60706. We provide fire protection and emergency medical services (advance life support) 24 hours a day-365 days per year to the Villages of Norridge, Harwood Heights, and Norwood Park Township.  The department protects approximately 25,000 people within 7 square miles.  The amount of Fire calls and EMS calls per year range between 3000-3500.  The department consists of a Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, Fire Inspector, 3 Shift Commanders, 3 Lieutenants, 15 fire fighters, and 12 paramedics.  The department also provides additional services to the community :

2.  Public Education programs
3.  Safety Town
4.  School visits
5.  Attend Block parties                     
6.  Open House
7.  Explorer Program
8.  Car seat installation (by appointment)
9.  Fire cause and Origin Investigations
10.Plan Review
11.CPR & First Aid Classes  monthly (call for schedule)
12.Blood Pressure checks between 1:00 and 4:00
 
We also work in conjunction with the Norridge Building Department to establish proper inspection procedures on consturction projects and occupancies of businesses.

The Fire Department continually strives to meet the emergency needs of our residents for Life Safety.  All of our services require a level of expertise, which our personnel monitor through their training and continuing education.
